Role / Production Manager
Le Grand Fooding New York 2011 kicked off Saturday September 17th with the convivial Campfire Session, an evening of collaborative food and music, in which chefs and musicians created dishes together, set amidst the twinkling lights and requisite fire at the Elizabeth Street Garden in Soho.
Sponsored by MasterCard and Jameson, the Campfire Session welcomed 400 guests that enjoyed tasty bites by two amazing duos – Inaki Aizipitarte (Le Chateaubriand, Paris) & James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) and Dante Gonzales (Dante Fried Chicken, NYC) & Muhsinah – and some ice-cream deliciousness by Van Leeuwen.
As the sun set in the background, guests warmed up near the bonfires while Sondre Lerche held an acoustic set followed by DJ Sets by Nancy Whang.
Simply put, everyone was having fun; strolling around the garden, and chatting in line with strangers-turned-friends. It certainly didn’t hurt that portions were generous and that cocktails (Milk & Honey’s Sasha Petraske and Dutch Kills’ Richard Boccato) were flowing all night.
As Production Manager I was responsible for communications with brands, sponsors, partners, chefs, mixologists, talents, and suppliers. I also supervised the local production teams, graphically designed site plans and managed the operational organization as well as the on site run of show.
*$15 out of $50 (entree fee) per ticket was donated to Action Against Hunger.
